Volunteer/Intern
Over the next few months we will be starting a conversation about your ideas and mine. My campaign isn't about me telling you how it should be, but about listening to the needs of the community to ensure the person you entrust to elect truly represents you and what you believe in.
That is why I need all hands on deck to reach as many people as possible. To knock on doors, social network online, pass out materials, hang posters, and any other means of connecting with voters and potential voters.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Organize Fundraisers/House Parties
- GOTV (Get Out the Vote) phone calls
- Door-to-Door Canvassing
- Social Networking
- Research legislative headlines and policy issues
- Create and distribute campaign materials
- Drive candidates to doors
- Write letters to editor
- Coordinate letters
- Sign placement & pickup
- Phone reminders to vote
- Online data input
*High School and College students are welcome to apply for similar internship opportunities after checking with their advisors
Positions Available:
- Multimedia Intern: During campaign events we need people to take pictures and capture video to document our outreach efforts and to help spread the campaign message in our online efforts.
- Communications Intern: Have an interest in talking with people? If you decide to take on this role you will be helping to manage all social media outreach, website presence, searching for media articles about the campaign, and developing media contacts for interviews.
- Events Intern: This position requires someone to keep the campaign updated on what events are going on in the Saco-Biddeford community. Also any events the campaign organizes this person will be there to help setup.
- Public Policy Intern: New legislation is debated all the time and new issues crop up into the community or state discussion. This is why the campaign needs someone to periodically research key points and facts on a given topic when the need arises.
- Community Canvasser: Going door-to-door talking with people about the issues will be the key to victory in June. As we get closer to the coveted primary election, we will need people to canvas their own neighborhoods. We will provide you a script (in case you get nervous) and send you out with a map, names of people, and their addresses.
- House Party Organizer: If you love to throw parties, sign up to organize a party or two for the campaign. These are designed to generate interest in the campaign and to raise money for outreach efforts.
- Campaign Assistant: There will be tasks that arise that I need dealt with like stapling signs together, calling/emailing on behalf of the campaign, running errands, etc that might seem small but are very important in the overall scheme of things.
- Volunteer Coordinator: Just as we assembled you all here today, the campaign needs someone to take on the task of communicating with all of the volunteers and interns to coordinator weekly assignments/activities/goals.
